You can request other information such as details about where we get personal information from and who we share personal information with. Our lawful bases for the collection and use of your data
Our lawful bases for collecting or using personal information to provide services and goods are:
- Contract – we have to collect or use the information so we can enter into or carry out a contract with you. All of your data protection rights may apply except the right to object.
Our lawful bases for collecting or using personal information for service updates or marketing purposes are:
- Consent - we have permission from you after we gave you all the relevant information. All of your data protection rights may apply, except the right to object. To be clear, you do have the right to withdraw your consent at any time.
Where we get personal information from
- Directly from you
- Third parties: Wedding directories, business listings and enquiry platforms when prospective clients choose to submit an enquiry through those services. This may include Hitched, Bridebook and other photography or wedding-supplier directories on which the business is listed.
How long we keep information
We retain personal information only for as long as it is reasonably required for the purpose for which it was collected, including providing our photography services, maintaining appropriate business records and meeting our legal obligations.
Enquiries that do not result in a booking are normally retained for up to 12 months after our last communication. Client booking information, contracts, correspondence and order records are normally retained for up to six years after the services have been completed. Financial and accounting information is retained for the period required by HM Revenue and Customs.
Unedited photographs are normally retained for up to 12 months after delivery of the completed gallery. Final edited photographs may be retained in our secure archive for up to five years, while online client galleries are normally available for 12 months unless the client is advised otherwise. Photographs used in our portfolio or marketing are retained until they are no longer required or the relevant permission is withdrawn.
- Where information is deleted from our active systems, copies may remain within secure backups until they are removed through the normal backup cycle. We review our retention periods regularly and securely delete or anonymise information that is no longer required.
